Alex M. Soderback, 26, previously entered a guilty plea to charges of involuntary deviate sexual intercourse with a victim under 13 and rape of a child in May, said the Bucks District Attorney's Office.
Common Pleas Judge Charissa J. Liller sentenced him to 11 to 22 years on Thursday, Sept. 14.
He was also ordered to undergo mental health evaluation, receive sex offender treatment, and have no contact with the victim or anyone under 18, the DA's Office said.
The sentence follows an investigation that began in August 2022, when the then-9-year-old victim and his mother reported the abuse to Richland police.
Police were told that Soderback raped the victim "several times" at his home when he was between 5 an d 7 years old.
"Soderback at first told the detective in an interview that the child was the aggressor in making the sexual advances towards him," DA Matthew Weintraub's Office said.
"Today, at sentencing, Soderback admitted that he was the sexual aggressor and sexually assaulted the child for his own sexual gratification."
The 26-year-old will have to register as a sex offender and be under Megan’s Law supervision for the rest of his life, they added.
